AN EXCELLENT LOCATION!

The Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited park in the United States. This popularity has created a huge tourist industry in this area, but it has also created bumper to bumper traffic, crowded restaurants, and inflated prices. The location of Carson Springs area right off the 432B exit of interstate I-40 gives you quick access to all of the areas most popular attractions without the traffic jams and constant series of red lights. From the Bonnie Brae location you are less than an hour from most of the Smoky Mountain attractions.

Directions to The Bonnie Brae Cabin:  From Knoxville, Tennessee  take I-40 east or from Asheville, NC take I-40 west until you get to Exit 432B and exit. As you leave the exit ramp you will see an Exxon station on your right. Run right at the Exxon station which puts you on Carson Springs road. Go 3.6 miles to 951 Carson Springs road and look for a driveway on your right. Turn at the driveway to follow it across the creek to the cabin.

River Rafting on the Pigeon and French Broad River:.

Several rafting companies offer river rafting on both the Pigeon River near Newport and the French Broad River which is about 30 minutes east of Newport in North Carolina.
