The Bonnie Brae Cabin is located on approximately 2 acres of land which lies on each side of the Carson Springs Creek. The cabin is about 20 feet from the western side of the creek and consists of approximately 3,000 sq. feet of floor space. The large front porch features a cool rocking place and the sound of the creek in the background. The large hemlock tree beside the front porch is thought to be over 200 years old. l

A log construction of the house is unusual. The logs still have the original bark which was not removed from the logs during the construction of the home in the 1920's. During the 1970's the house was completely remodeled with all new modern plumbing, electrical, and heating and air. The large fireplace faces into the main living room.

The large front porch is large enough for large groups (20'x40'). The cool air of the mountains keeps the temperature comfortable during the hottest weather. Just grab a rocking chair, kick back,  and listen to the creek.

On the East side of the creek there is a large lawn area which features a recreation area and creekside picnic area and more. You can walk around the driveway, or take the log footbridge. In this picture you can see the Bonnie Brae Cabin on the right behind the trees. The apartment/carport is on the left.

The design of the front porch is unique among log homes. Each chestnut log retains its bark and original look. The atmosphere is difficult to describe. You have to hear the creek and feel the logs to truly appreciate this unique location.

The Carson Springs Creek is always crystal clear except right after a heavy rain. Young people love to build dams from the creek rocks. A good dam will provide a pond of water that works well with toy boats and gives you a good rock skipping area.
